Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Orping.io (“Orping,” “we,” “us”) is a software product operated by the Orping team. Orping does not currently operate through a separate incorporated legal entity. Orping provides ESS health monitoring for Oracle Fusion: a dashboard for job health, Slack-based notifications, an intelligence layer that surfaces prior fixes, and plain-English translation of Oracle errors.

For paid purchases, Dodo Payments acts as our Merchant of Record (the legal seller/reseller of the paid product). See Section 2 and our Terms for how that works.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Account information — name and email when you sign up or join a waitlist.
• Slack tokens & workspace data — OAuth / bot tokens, workspace ID, channel IDs, and user IDs needed to post ESS alerts and handle mark-resolved actions. Tokens are encrypted and used solely to operate the Slack app.
• Oracle / Fusion credentials — Fusion hostname and integration-user credentials. Stored encrypted and used only for read-only REST polling of ESS job status and error details.
• Monitoring & usage data — watched jobs, alert history, resolution notes, routing config, and product analytics within your account.
• Payment & billing information — collected and processed by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record. Orping does not store card numbers or full payment credentials. Dodo may collect billing name, email, address, tax identifiers, and payment-method details as needed to process the sale, calculate and remit taxes, issue invoices, and handle refunds or disputes. That processing is governed by Dodo’s Privacy Policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To run ESS health monitoring, Slack notifications, the intelligence layer, and plain-English error translation.
• To send transactional email (alerts, account notices, onboarding).
• To improve the product based on aggregated usage patterns.
• To coordinate account access with paid subscription status reported by our Merchant of Record (Dodo Payments).
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing.

4. Merchant of Record & Payment Processors

When you buy a paid Orping plan or related purchase, you buy from Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record — the legal seller of the transaction. Dodo handles payment processing, applicable sales tax / VAT / GST calculation and remittance, invoicing, chargebacks, and related compliance. Orping is the supplier of the software service you access after purchase.

Dodo Payments acts as an independent controller for personal data it collects directly from buyers for those MoR purposes. See Dodo’s Privacy Policy and Buyer Terms.

Payment, tax, invoice, refund, and chargeback questions about a purchase should go to Dodo Payments (and/or hello@orping.io so we can help route them). Product and account privacy requests about Slack, Fusion credentials, or Orping usage data should go to hello@orping.io.

5. Slack Tokens

When you install Orping from Slack, Slack grants OAuth tokens that we store encrypted. Those tokens allow Orping to post messages, open threads, and respond to button actions in channels you configure. We do not read unrelated channel history. When you uninstall the app or disconnect Slack, tokens are revoked and deleted.

6. Oracle / Fusion Credentials

Fusion credentials are encrypted at rest and used exclusively for read-only REST API calls to poll ESS scheduled-process status. We do not access or store business data from your Oracle environment beyond the job status and error details needed for monitoring and alerts.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain account and operational data while your account is active. After account deletion or a deletion request to hello@orping.io, data is permanently removed within 30 days. Slack tokens and Oracle credentials are deleted immediately on disconnect, uninstall, or account closure.

You do not need an Orping account to request deletion related to a Slack install — email us from a workspace admin address and include the Slack workspace name.

Payment and tax records retained by Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record are retained under Dodo’s own policies and legal obligations — see Dodo’s Privacy Policy.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies. Checkout pages hosted or provided by Dodo Payments may set their own cookies as described in Dodo’s policies.

9. Your Rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data Orping holds at any time by emailing hello@orping.io. We respond within 30 days.

For rights requests about payment, billing, or tax data held by Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record, contact Dodo per their Privacy Policy, and copy hello@orping.io if you want our help.

10. GDPR (EU Users)

If you are in the European Union, you have rights to access, rectify, erase, and port your data, and to object to processing. For Orping service data, our lawful basis is performance of a contract (providing the service you signed up for) and, where applicable, legitimate interests in operating and securing the product. Contact hello@orping.io to exercise rights with Orping.

For purchase-related processing by Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record, Dodo is an independent controller — see Dodo’s Privacy Policy.

11. Security & Hosting

All traffic uses HTTPS. Slack tokens and Fusion credentials are encrypted at rest. Production access is limited. The service is hosted on managed cloud infrastructure (currently Railway / equivalent commercial cloud hosting) with industry-standard controls. Card payments are handled by Dodo Payments under their PCI DSS and security controls — Orping does not store card numbers.

12. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email where practicable. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy (as it relates to Orping’s operation of the Service and data Orping controls) is governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable rules, without prejudice to mandatory consumer or data-protection rights in your country of residence.

Purchase transactions processed by Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record may be governed by Dodo’s own terms and applicable law as stated in the Dodo Buyer Terms.
